Purplestride: the Walk to End Pancreatic Cancer, Madison, May 4. David Bendlin, Andrea Bendlin, Barb Seguin, Dennis Murphy and I walked the two-mile course today (8 weeks after my Whipple surgery). Hundreds of people attended, most of whom had lost a friend or family member to this deadly cancer...only 13 of the hundreds attending were survivors. It was a day of hope because I met other survivors; it was a sobering day because I heard so many stories of loved ones lost. Thanks to everyone who donated...I received a bronze medal for being the third highest fundraiser!  And after the walk, I spent some time chillin' in my garden with my cat, Naia.  Today, as with every day, I am very thankful to be alive.
