I know it has been such a long time since I made an entry but now I can share the hopeful news that Bail has passed 2 swallow tests and is just beginning to have some food via the mouth!! only applesauce but that is a start. He must have someone qualified with him when he gets food by mouth until more aides can be trained to sit and watch him at meals. He is very excited. I am trying to temper things as I do not want him to be discouraged if he isnt able to eat all the food he has before his accident. The feeding tube may remain to be sure he gets the needed nourishment. So despite all the odds against him he has succeeded in this huge endeavor! Even if he is not able to eat everything again he will certainly have the pleasure of tasting some of his favorite foods.
He continues to get good care and is certainly loved by all those who work at Jaffrey. I am so grateful..He wore a wolf mask today that I sent him for the Halloween gathering..the head nurse told me he was really special..lots of photos taken of him.
So my entries are few and far between but when I have good news I am happy to be able to post it!!
