Journal entry by Leah Wipf

Eddie is feeling much better! In fact, today he made it all day in the same outfit, which may be a first since coming home. Between getting past his cold and the new reflux med, spit ups are less common and smiles abound.

Ellie made her official shift to preschool and had been wearing undies during waking hours. She's doing great with both!

Last week, Eddie weighed in just over 10lbs, right on track for target surgery weight. His oxygen saturation was a little low, but that's considered normal because he's out growing his stint. It was still high enough that the cardiologist said his surgery wouldn't be top priority. His case is being presented to the board of surgeons in the next two weeks, so I'm hoping we will have a surgery date soon.

I will continue to work part time from home with Eddie until after his surgery. We found out that recovery in the hospital could take up to two weeks. So, even if his surgery is scheduled early in June, I won't be back in the office until mid June. Unfortunately, I'm now out of PTO to supplement the hours. We're very grateful for the gifts and help we've received from friends and family already, and we'll let you know if things get too tight. Thank you for your love and prayers.
