Journal entry by Gretchen Koopmans —
Katie turned six months old today! She is doing so well. She is working on sitting. Yesterday, she began using her hands to support herself. She has begun to blow raspberries--a somewhat messy, but endearing activity. Most wonderfully, she is starting to chuckle. Her joy is bringing us joy--even when she isn't smiling. (I can't post a video here or I would.)
April 27th, she and I will head to the Spina Bifida clinic in Sioux Falls to see how her health is developing, but her physical therapy and early childhood education appointments are encouraging. She is meeting most of her milestones--except rolling. As her father reminds me, she may not be overly motivated; we all are pretty crazy about her, so she doesn't have to protest too much to get our attention.
Thank you for all your care and your prayers. God has been so good.
