Welcome to Madeline’s CaringBridge Site
Sign In to Show Your SupportBaby Honey is a rockstar, and on her way to recovering well. They successfully extubated her this morning and placed her on CPAP. She did well on CPAP, so they moved her to a low flow oxygen cannula just like she was pre-surgery! She is smiley and cute, sleeping well, and loving the cuddles.
A cardiologist visited this afternoon. She broke news that the cardiology team is having a conference about Madeline’s case tomorrow. Based on what they see from today’s echo, it was explained to us that Madeline is expected to have surgery sooner than we anticipated. We were definitely caught off guard, and are having a hard time with it. In the words of the doctor, “I’d expect surgery to be more than 5 days from now, but in less than 4 weeks.”
Can’t believe we are only one day post-op, talking about scheduling her open heart surgery in the near future. Please pray for the cardiologists making a decision about her surgery in the meeting tomorrow morning. Trusting God has us in the right place, at the right time, for the right care. Even if the news is a lot right now.
