Welcome to our CaringBridge website for the newest member of the Riley family, Emersyn Elizabeth.  Cristy, Tom, Kiernan, Max, and Coco are very excited for their sweet new addition. We will use this site to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.


Emmy was diagnosed with a congenital anomaly, jejunal atresia, at 30 weeks. This is an obstruction or incomplete development of her small bowels. She was born at 36 weeks, on March 1st, at Riley Hospital, in Indianapolis. Riley Children's Health is one of the best, and she is in the hands of very capable experts. She underwent a surgical repair on March 2nd.

We are home!!! Emmy gained weight 3 days in a row! She’s up to 6.02kg (a little over 13lbs). We were originally told Wednesday for discharge day, but she was doing so well, they let us leave today! We are all excited to have things settle down. Thank you all for your continued support. All the positive vibes, prayers and check ins were greatly appreciated!
