Journal entry by Austin Schwenke —
Hi Everyone,
Here’s an update on what has been happening in the last couple of weeks. As I have been receiving this treatment my blood counts (specifically my white blood cells) have been slowly going down after each treatment. Last week, my counts unfortunately were too low which meant I did not get treatment. I took the week off in order for my counts to slowly rise back up. This week, they were up! So, I did get my treatment this week. Right now I have 4/12 treatments in. 8 more to go. Everyone always asks... How are you feeling? I am doing pretty good. No nausea which I’m thankful for. I have some side effects that are small annoyances including losing my eyebrows/eyelashes although the hair on my head is slowly coming back, my nails are brittle and look weird with lots of white lines, dry skin, and hot flashes! Hot flashes will be here for years to come based on everything going on with my body so, I am used to them. Life is keeping me busy at home. I am ready for warmer weather and summer. Thanks for your continued prayers and for following me on my journey.
