Journal entry by Christy Ryland

It was a good day for Austin. They put another stent in his pancreas today. They are hoping that will help slow down the drains. He feels pretty good today too. He hasn’t had a good day for a while. We have to see the GI specialist again in 2 weeks. I’m hoping we can get it scheduled the same time we have to go see his surgical team. If we could get him to tolerate his tube feedings I think we will be in good shape.
I had a terrible day. When I was loading the car this morning I messed up my back bad. I had to take Austin to the hospital immediately after that. I could hardly walk. The people at the hospital thought I was the patient. When they brought him back to his room after his procedure the nurses noticed how much I was suffering, I was literally in tears so Austin was telling them what I did to my back. The nurses were so nice and got me an ice pack and wrapped me all up and sent me home with a blanket all rolled up to put behind my back for the ride home.  I felt bad, here Austin was the patient just coming out of anesthesia and the nurses attention was all on me. Austin was even helping and offered his wheelchair to me. I didn’t take his wheelchair but that was so sweet of him. I’m hoping it’s something that the chiropractor can fix tomorrow. I’m scared to even have him touch me it hurts so damn bad. I’ve never had this kind of pain before. So, I am pretty much useless until I can move. Ugh. Someday I will catch a break.
