Journal entry by Heather Hobert

In the last month, we’ve been able to get back to mostly normal life.  Austin has been able to enjoy a couple vikings games, his healing time has allowed him plenty of video game time and visits from friends.  We were to the eye specialist today and now have new information about his sight and what our options are going forward.  His vision is good but some muscle control is slow to come back so he is still experiencing double vision when looking down.  We will hope to help this with prism type technology on glasses.  As of now, it’s very possible Austin will have eye surgery in approx 6 months to tighten the lower eye lid along with adjusting the inside corner and tear duct.  His swelling and bruising under the skin just need more time to settle down so thats why the eye surgery has to wait until next year.  Hoping and praying his school year goes smooth.  Thanks again for each of you who have continued to reach out and be a blessing to us!!
