Early this week we enjoyed a yummy dinner from our friend Jill. Auggie tried it and screamed out in delight "I love it!" He also got to pick out his own flower to plant - he of course picked pink! He was super excited about it!
We had his clinic visit today and Auggie is mildly neutopenic with an ANC of 470. But, he is otherwise doing well.
Yesterday, a dear friend and one of Anita's coworkers passed away after a battle with cancer 😥. It has been a tough couple of days for mom. Jennifer Smith was a one of a kind beautiful young woman who was taken away from us too soon. She is the one who gave Auggie his "Buster Bear" - the lovey that Auggie absolutely cannot be without. So, Jennifer, thank you for providing our little fighter with some peace and comfort because that is exactly what Buster Bear is to Auggie on a daily basis. ❤
Now, in the midst of the sadness comes some joy. We received our family photos that were taken by the wonderful Stephanie Baker! She has been taking our photos since 2008. This was just for a mini session, ie.15 minutes & only for kiddos. But, she was so kind and let the boys have their pics taken then let us all change into our Auggie Strong shirts for some photos as well. They turned out awesome! Stephanie also gave him a dinosaur book which he loves! 🦕🦖
Next week we are back to the clinic early on Thursday. Auggie is due to start his next round of chemo - delayed intensification. As long as he makes blood counts he will receive 2 iv chemos and a lumbar puncture so he can get intrathecal chemo as well. He will also start on oral steroids again. It will be a lot for him. Hoping side effects won't be too severe 🙏🤞
