Journal entry by Alexander Roussell

It is with the most aching pain that I tell you   our brave little boy passed on from this world Wednesday June 19th.
August had been admitted to the hospital for a fever, then suffered multiple massive strokes, from which he was unable to recover.
Auggie loved and lived in way we should all aspire to, with wonder, joy, and bravery. He was too perfect for this world.
When August was diagnosed, I struggled and still do, to understand how such a thing could happen to a person so innocent and pure of heart, filled with such promise. I was angry at God. As time passed, I began to wonder if God's will and love might be shown not in the cruel fate of August, but in the hearts of the good people who have shown us untold kindnesses and in the blessing of our baby Emerson to help us heal. August was sent to us to teach us...teach us to love fully, to live bravely and without regret. He taught us well. I only wish we had more time with him. He will always be with us...always.

A viewing will be held Monday, June 24th at 4 pm and Service Wednesday, June 26th at 11 am at Franklin and Downs Funeral Home in Modesto, Ca.
August will be laid to rest at Lakewood Memorial Park in Hughson, Ca immediately following the service.
A gathering will be held at Larsa Hall in Denair, Ca following the graveside service.

Thank you all for your love and support,
