Newest Update

Journal entry by Jennifer Jones

So we finished round 5 of Chemo yesterday.

One more “official” round to be done yet.  We have another EUA at the end of the month to see how her tumors are and if they will get Laser or Cryotherapy then, only time will tell. And I’m sure she will have another EUA at the end of November. The EUAs are  also known as her scans.  Her treatment plan after the scans in November will be determined based on how active her tumors are.  I’m hoping they are dormant and stable so we can just continue with monthly scans and not do anymore chemo for a while. 🤞🏻. Our Oncologist told me that a lot of times the last two rounds of Chemo the tumors are generally still active.  So we will find out soon enough.

However, Retinoblastoma does what it wants and is an aggressive cancer.  I’m trying to stay optimistic and honestly just living more in the present than the future.   I owe my daughter that.  I’m just enjoying our days and our snuggles and playtime.

She has her big first birthday coming up and will probably have one eye swollen for Halloween since our EUa is 2 days before and as long as she isn’t super painful I want her to enjoy her first Halloween and go trick or treating.  I want her to enjoy as much as she cans.

Moving on in our cycle 5, making strides.
