Audrey Jo’s Story

Site created on February 11, 2020

Audrey Jo entered this world on 11/29/19 and has been a ray of sunshine ever since.   She is your typical 10 week old.   She is spoiled and like things Audrey's way.  Our journey really began on day one with Audrey without us knowing it.   We have always worried about her breathing, but were told she was just a heavy breather. Over the last 10 weeks that has progressively worsened.  On February 7th we went to Pediatrician, where we found her oxygen level was at 79%.   Audrey was started on a breathing treatment and oxygen while we waited on the ambulance.  Once we arrived at children's hospital we were sent to picu for testing.  Audrey's tests showed a narrowing airway that required her being transported to Vanderbilt.  As with any illness things can change quickly.   We have now learned Audrey suffers from a narrowed airway and a pulmonary artery sling.   Due to this problem Audrey wasn't handling the pressure of the ventilator well.   She is now on a machine called an ecmo.  This machine has made all the difference in the world for her.   She is now able rest while we await surgery.

Newest Update

Audrey update!

It has been awhile since we did an update, but everything has been calm for the princess.   She is trucking right along with her g tube and we are adjusting her volume weekly.  She has been working hard in therapy and it is showing she is setting up with minimal assistance.  She can roll to her sides but doesn't want to go to her belly.   We have a busy next 2 weeks if everyone will say a quick prayer for her.  She will be seeing the cardiologist this week, dilation and g tube change on Friday, and swallow test next Tuesday.

Thank you for the continued love and support.  Our little miracle!
