Newest Update

Journal entry by Ashley Ogren

I have never been so happy to be referred to as unremarkable before! I always scan the results for that word, and it was all over. I am exhausted after no sleep and early morning appointments but all worth it. Today was the BEST visit to date!

CT scan summary:

CHEST:
1. No significant change in size of small residual metastatic left lower cervical and thoracic lymph nodes, some of which are partially calcified. No new thoracic lymphadenopathy.
2. No pulmonary metastatic disease.

ABDOMEN AND PELVIS:
1. Hysterectomy and omentectomy. No definite change in subtle residual peritoneal calcifications suggesting prior peritoneal metastatic disease. No ascites.
2. No significant change in residual gastrohepatic and retroperitoneal nodal metastases, some of which are partially calcified. No new abdominopelvic lymphadenopathy.

My Ca-125 stayed at 83! Due to this, Dr. P suggested that we draw labs in three months and if it is the same or lower, I get to push the CT scan out to 6 months to save my body from the radiation. "You are young and I see lots of scans throughout the years, so let's save them up if we can.” All I heard, was girl, you have a lot of years left!! :)  He just kept shaking his head and said, Ashley, I am just really happy with these results. There was another oncologist that met with me and goes, oh yes, you are the one with the very interesting case.. hopefully all this means that I continue to defy the statistics!

Now to spend the weekend celebrating at the lake with the boys and the best of friends! Be back in 3-6 months with some more good news. Love you all so much <3
