Journal entry by Amanda Roberts

These weekends go way too quick and it’s getting harder to leave!

The girls are 4 weeks (34 weeks corrected)

Rowan: she continues to gain weight and is filling out her preemie clothes. She is still on room air but they are leaving her on the nasal cannula with air flow. She still has episodes where her oxygen drops but she corrects them by herself. She continues to try to eat by mouth as well. She struggles a little with this but that is to be expected at this stage. She received her first vaccine today and did well. Goals for her to be closer to discharge are eating by mouth and weaning off the nasal cannula.

Lyla: she also continues to gain weight and is getting closer to her goal weight for the CT scan. They have not had to make any big adjustments to her vent. She has been more alert and opening her eyes more. She was seen by a retina specialist today and passed all of her tests. She is also tolerating touch better.

Ashlee and Tanner: Ashlee has been having episodes of what I am pretty sure is gallbladder attacks. I finally convinced her to go in today and she has an ultrasound scheduled for Wednesday morning. Tanner has been chauffeuring us around Minneapolis and navigating the ridiculous parking (or lack there of). Shoutout to him for putting up with two passenger princesses.
