Baby Riyah. She's an extraordinary baby! The strength within her is amazing as well as her will to live at such a tender age. She was diagnosed at about 3 mo. with Gaucher type 2 disease. This disease is like an entity on it's own. Baby's with type 2 have a lifespan of maybe 2 years. This disease is debilitating. As seen she's fed via feeding tube it stunts their growth causing them to have a slow weight gain, they forget how to swallow (requiring therapy to learn again) the inability to eat is because of asphyxiation which is what they normally die from. It cause their liver and spleen to be enlarged and in turn they can't reach milestones they aren't able to sit up and the room for their little lungs is limited which causes them to have difficulties breathing. Riyah has coded several times and has had CPR 2 times this month. She's been in ICU at children's hospital of Wisconsin for a month now.  She's in and out of the hospital for sports of a week or so. Their is now a gene therapy I'd love to contact the media about. SHE WILL BE THE FIRST BABY IN THE WORLD TO RECEIVE IT. AGAIN Gaucher type 2 is very rare but she is a candidate and as soon as she is discharged they'll be flying out. I'm asking for my daughter and granddaughters sake for us as a whole to come together and support her both prayerfully and financially. This is a long road we have ahead but we are very optimistic!!!
