Journal entry by Michelle Abshire

So, we saw the oncologist last week to go over scan results and next steps. He's confident that the blips in Arin's lungs are not cancer as they have not changed shape or size since treatment began. This sentiment was shared by the Mayo surgeon who did Arin's lung surgery. Next steps will be the removal of the port (Thursday) and hearing and heart tests for any negative effects of the chemo. Arin has a bit of a sore shoulder but it's most likely muscular as they transition from shoulder crutches to using the forearm crutches with the prosthetic. If it persists, I'll ask the doctor if we can get some imaging just to ease our minds. Otherwise things are going well. We have many things to look forward to, including an upcoming Make A Wish trip which is going to be awesome. Hopefully we can manage some drivers ed this summer between catching up with schoolwork from the last year and visiting family.
