We felt all your prayers, love and support today as we went to anthonys follow up appt. Thank you! He is officially released from the collar!! 😘😘
The neurosurgeon, Dr. Skoch and his team (including my friend Rachel- thanks Rachel for all your help) we are cleared from the neuro team and moving on to REHAB!!
We will continue with physical therapy and occupational therapy, weekly and he has been cleared to start lifting and resuming normal activity as he can. Taking it light the first month, but HE IS CLEARED TO DRIVE! Not sure who is more excited about that him or me (ok him). He is going to focus on gaining back the muscles he has lost the last 2 months bc officially he has lost about 16 pounds. He is handling this with great courage and strength.
God has a plan for great things for Anthony. A Champion! Anthony was able to go to the Children’s Hospital patient advisory council meeting thanks to our friends Logan and Michelle this past Monday and be a champion for the hospital. He meet with other patients and hospital staff to come up with ideas to make the stay more comfortable for patients and families while in the hospital. He came home and was so excited to help make change for future patients! It was inspiring to hear how much he was excited to help make change for others!
We were very blessed to have family, friends and the top Children’s hospital (#1 in my book) near us and we know that not everyone is that lucky. Anthony has a lot of work ahead of him physically but he is making great choices to help others using his experience and for that we are GRATEFUL!
