Anthony’s Story

Site created on June 10, 2018

As many of you are aware that my husband Anthony Barrera was coming home from Pleasanton on May 12,2018 when he was in a motorcycle accident. He was traveling on highway 84 when he went head on with a Truck. By the grace of God and prayers from all over the country Anthony survived.  The major injuries that Anthony had were:  Crushed Pelvis and multiple broken bones in his left leg. Thankfully he had no head nor neck injuries. He has had many surgeries over the past month and we expect him to have a few more to repair the broken bones. Many have asked me to keep them updated on his progress so I think this would be the best way to keep everyone in the loop. Thank you all for your prayers, love and support. We are extremely grateful for each and every single one of you. Anthony is a real strong man physically and mentally and I have no doubts that he will pull out of this stronger than ever and I can't wait to get him home eventually  with myself and the kids.

Newest Update

Journal entry by Sabrina Barrera

After 11 weeks, we have some very positive news. Anthony will be going home. He is now anxious and I don't think the day can come soon enough for any of us. Anthony has been working 3 hours a day on intense physical therapy, working on things he will need to do in his everyday life and although he is tired by the time therapy is over he is doing a great job on his exercises. He had a home evaluation to see how he could function at home and he did great and was excited to be home and didn't want to leave. The kids let the dogs in to see him and the dogs were so excited he was there. We feel at this point with Anthony being home he will be more comfortable at home and heal a lot sooner and be able to take a lot of stress off the whole family knowing we can finally pick up life where we left off. So glad this season is coming to an end and we can start one of many new seasons together.
