Ann’s Story

Site created on June 15, 2020

Welcome to my Caring Bridge site.  I will do my best to keep everyone in the loop.  I have been reminded by several people that this is a marathon, not a sprint.  With all marathon's I am going to need lots of cheerleading( prayers) and help.  It is difficult for me to ask for help but with the assistance of Paul and the rest of my family, we will post when help is needed.   Love to all of you that visit my site.

I posted most of this on Facebook, but I will put it here again with a little more

Damn. With all the good news, there is a little bad and this is what happened today at the Oncologist Office.
The Good News. The tumor has shrunk again and Dr. Lewis advised that it feels like a dense breast and that it seems like the tumor is almost gone, this does not mean surgery is not going to happen, it just means we are winning.

The Bad news: Ann's platelets are down to 74000, 100000 is where we need to be. Her potassium is low as well as magnesium. All these things combined have put a temporary stop to Chemo(at least a week ) Today she is getting a big bag of magnesium, and the Dr has prescribed several medicines that should assist in her getting back up and running. Because the chemo is delayed that means the surgery will also be delayed, it was scheduled for the 29th of Oct, but we will have to see when it is best for Ann.

With any setback, it is easy to get down and want to give up. Ann is a fighter and a prayer. Ann prays the rosary and offers up her pain to our Holy Mother Mary. Please continue to pray for my beloved bride and a call to bring her a smile during a time where smiles are hard to come by.

I have no real other information except keep her close to your heart. Ann is a true gift to all of us; whether it is Family, friend, teacher, colleague, class member, or any number of things. These next few weeks are going to be hard. Setbacks always are.

Love to all
