Ann’s Story

Site created on November 14, 2019

My latest journey began on October 16, 2019, when I had surgery to remove my thyroid.  I have been under endocrinologist care for over 7 years.  About two years ago I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's Disease and have been taking thyroid medicine for a year.  The endocrinologist sent me to a surgeon because I had a goiter that was quite large.  The pathology came back and I was diagnosed with Papillary and Follicular Thyroid Cancer.   I plan to lean into my strong Faith in The Lord during this time.  I believe God has a plan for me and I plan to be obedient.  Jeremiah 29:11 - "For I know the plans I have for you," says the Lord.  "They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope."

Happy New Year!!!

I received wonderful news yesterday.  My endocrinologist called to tell me that the scan I had on 12/26 showed that the cancer has not metastasized.  Thanks and Praise to God!  I am Beyond Blessed!

What's next?  I have labs drawn on 1/21 and then I see the endocrinologist on 1/28.  I am thinking I will go back to my regular visits with the endocrinologist.  It has been every 6 months, but with the cancer diagnosis I am wondering if it will be sooner.
