Journal entry by Lisa Heaner

Ann is home!

We picked her up on Saturday afternoon and got her settled in her newly reconfigured apartment. There's plenty of room now for her to maneuver with her walker or cane. And everything has its place. We were finally able to celebrate Christmas together, too.

When we asked her if she was glad to be home, she gave an emphatic yes and is especially happy to be sleeping in her own bed.

Ann won't be able to drive for the forseeable future, so if you're looking for ways to support her, phone calls, FaceTime or Marco Polo are really good virtual options.

If you're looking for a practical method, she will need help getting groceries once a week. We've set her up with a meal delivery service, but there are still some items she will need to get from the store. Additionally, the internet service Ann currently has is spotty and often doesn't work. So if you're of the tech-savvy ilk, this would be a fantastic help to her.

We're sending you all love and gratitude in this new (and already bumpy) year. Please stay healthy and safe!
