Journal entry by Emily Geoghegan —
Dearest family and friends,
I cant begin to relay how much all of your prayers, concern, and offers to help have meant to me. This experience has given me a deep spiritual healing, in knowing that God is with me and is seen through your love and acts of kindness. . Thank you for the loaners of items, getting me ready to be "accommodated" around the house was so helpful and loving. Thank you deeply for all of the above! My niece and Goddaughter, Melody, and Emily were my heroes throughout the trauma of the ICU experience, and all the doctors and staff at United kept me on the path to health. Granted, some things should have been done differently with my first discharge, but unexpected reaction to anesthetic detoured me. Em and Mel walked the halls , so I could move my 'new hip.' ! They fetched things for me and kept me sane! Gee, i was pretty tense--no surprise, hugh? I used to to be 'wired pretty tight" but this has taught me to trust and to surrender to the Lord. ... Yes, He will take care of things! "In His Will is my Peace"....now I am sure of it!
Mel & Emily were so patient throughout. It was very stressful and scary, but now I'm amazed to have 'made it through the worst" i am praying yet for full return to better health, and for each of you. I have medical stability now, according to the doctor visit yesterday. Again, Em was driving me to doctor, for dressing change at Summit Ortho , and for a BIG exciting ride to the bank drive through and to mail something at post office . (haha...the little joys are amazing now. )_ I'm just so grateful. She has stayed overnight since last week's coming home! I will not detail all the wonderful things that you all have done, because i surely don't want to err and forget something. Just that all your flowers, gifts, meals, equipment are SO APPRECIATED... I started the thank you's and please hear my heart when I say I have been so blessed by you all. The meals have started and oh, is that is terrific! Well, Doc/trainer Emily is awaiting me to do my PT moves...maybe I should put on the 60's tunes .
With all love and appreciation,
Annie G.
