Ann’s Story

Site created on September 2, 2020

Welcome to Ann Brooks’ CaringBridge website we are using it to keep everyone updated in one place. We appreciate your support and prayers.
Mom fell in the parking lot of her hair/nails salon on August 18th and hit her head very hard on the pavement causing a large egg size hematoma on her head. She actually drive home if you can believe the people around her allowed that. For some reason, they didn’t take her to the doctor until August 26th. Her neurologist immediately said he didn’t like what he saw and ordered a CT which they scheduled eight days later for Sept 3rd. Unreal I know.
She went to bed on August 28th saying she didn’t feel well. On Saturday August 29th she said she couldn’t get out of the bed and had the worst headache of her life. The friend and nurse across the street cane over and immediate realized the seriousness and said call 911. They took her to Frankfort Hospital who realized it was over their capability and they only then called me for the first time at 3:45 PM asking “where do you want them to fly her?” So she went by air-ambulance to UK Health Center ER. I left Orlando got there at about 1 AM on August 30th. The rest is described in the journal. Thanks so much for praying for her.

Journal entry by Bill Brooks

Thank you everyone for your prayers. After the two small seizures this morning, Mom was thoroughly checked out at the ER and all was clear so she’s been discharged and headed home. Praises! Thanks to my cousin Debbie for going to drive mom home. And thanks to Tina from Visiting Angels for being there for mom and protecting her from falling and calling 911.
Thank you Lord!
