Anna’s Story

Site created on January 9, 2024

Since she was born, Anna has had abdominal imaging done as protocol for her Beckwith-Weideman diagnosis, as there is n increased risk for childhood cancer. The call came January 4th to let us know they found a Wilms Tumor on her ultrasound. We knew there was a chance for this to happen, but we still weren't prepared for that call.

Anna is receiving weekly chemo at DeVos in Grand Rapids. Their Pediatric Oncology/Hematology team is phenomenal, and Anna has made fast friends there.

We will be updating the site as often as we can, especially following major events. Thanks for checking on Anna Bear's progress and for all prayers and well wishes.

Journal entry by Maria Dodak

Anna's CT scan came back clean. Nothing new on the images means we finish up this course of treatment, one more scan, then the docs decide how to wrap this up. Keep up the positive vibes and prayers- we are seeing light at the end of this tunnel!
