It’s been a busy month and a half since our last post, Annabelle has completed the chemo part of her treatment and she had a PET scan on September 23rd, the mass has shrunk almost 68%, this is good news but instead of 14 treatments of radiation she will be getting 20 treatments. She started her radiation on October 3rd, hopefully she will be done by the end of the month, as long as the machines are in working order. So far she has only experienced some fatigue and a sore throat.
Her school has been great about her lack of attendance and she’s been able to go the past few weeks with the exception of appointments and not feeling well enough to attend class.
On September 26th, Annabelle celebrated her 18th birthday. We were hoping to have her brothers come into Albuquerque, but Ben was busy with work, so we decided to go to Phoenix to celebrate with him. Robert flew in from Kansas City. Roger, Annabelle and I flew in from Albuquerque. The boys played golf and Annabelle and I spent most of our time shopping. We tried a couple of new places for lunch and dinner, plus going to a few of our favorites.
We are hoping the next PET scan will show the mass is inactive and no longer a threat to her, she will need to wait to do this at the end of December. We are very hopeful and we appreciate all the love and support from our family and friends. With love, Karen
