Friday, July 16th, Anna went in for a sinus surgery that was supposed to last an hour. She had a complication, which combined with her Graves’ disease, triggered a Thyroid Storm. Both of her lungs collapsed which put pressure on her heart causing it to stop. She was resuscitated three times in the ER. She’s is in critical condition. She was in a medically induced coma for a number of days and remained on a breathing machine for about 11 days. The team at JPS hospital in Ft Worth was terrific. They did all they could to attempt to regulate her vital signs. Anna’s condition was very serious, but she is receiving excellent care.

Please join us in praying for Anna that the Lord will watch over her according to His perfect plan.

Bobby Bell (Anna’s husband) and Patrick and Christie (Anna’s parents) are staying with her at the hospital. Due to COVID, there can be no visitors.  The hospital is also asking for no flowers, blankets, or anything that she could inhale due to her lung damage.

The best thing we can all do is pray.  💗

“And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness.  For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words.  And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with God’s own will.  And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:26-28‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Journal entry by Anna Bell

Hello dear friends 💕

It’s been absolutely wonderful being home in such a peaceful and relaxing environment. It’s  been several days now and we’re just enjoying every moment. I’ve been able to cook, which has been something I’ve definitely missed plus I get to eat it :D
It’s been great to be able to get out and go places, as well. Just loving life! Knowing everything I have the privilege of experiencing is truly a gift from God. Beyond thankful!

On Friday, just as we were leaving the hospital, after being discharged, Bobby had the idea of stopping by the sinus Dr.s office just to say hi and tell the staff thank you, since they’ve been closely involved and that’s where this all began. Their office is only a couple minutes down the road from the hospital. When we got there, we realized my original procedure was on a Friday at the same time of day, which was really neat because it had been exactly 4 weeks. I’m so thankful we did this because it was a great way to bring closure to the experience. The drive home was very surreal, because it felt like time had ceased for the past 4 weeks and we were driving home as if we had just had the procedure and nothing happened.

We will never forget the lessons and the blessings that have come from this journey. Going through a hard time doesn’t mean you have to carry the pain you experienced, as a burden on your shoulders, throughout the rest of your life. It also doesn’t mean you ignore it or lock it away to fester. Simply hand it to Jesus who has promised to carry all the cares we cast on Him. No doubt, this experience is something I will ponder on for the rest of my life, but instead of it being in a state of regret and un-reconciliation, it will be in a state of peace with thanksgiving, because God protected my heart and kept what could have turned to bitterness and allowed it to blossom down the path that is His design for my life.

This isn’t the end of the journey simply the closing of a chapter and a part of the road we’ve chosen to walk. I choose to walk down the straight and narrow path. Not because it’s easy, but because it’s more than worth it, and at the end is my Savior in all His glory waiting to welcome me home with outstretched arms. (Well Done by The Afters)

In the months to come, I’ll have several follow up appointments to regulate my medication and make sure everything’s working the way it should. So, there’s still a process ahead but I look forward to it with excitement and anticipation. I mean how awesome is it that we get to go on adventures with the Creator the universe! Whatever is ahead, through Him, we have already won the victory 🤗

“For the Lord is God, and he created the heavens and earth and put everything in place. He made the world to be lived in, not to be a place of empty chaos. “I am the Lord,” he says, “and there is no other.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭45:18‬ ‭

“For if you keep silent at this time, relief and deliverance will rise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”
Esther 4:14
