Journal

Hello, my villagers,

Trust you all are enjoying the glories of springtime.

This is chemo week for me, two belly shots at the hospital infusion center for each of five consecutive days. In the interim, I take one chemo pill every morning except for the shots week. There is no end to this protocol. It only ends when the chemo regime stops working or I decide to stop. So far shots and/or pills are working in my favor.

I want to tell you who is visiting me. The simple answer is that those of you who have reached out and asked if you can come have visited, and I am very glad. I want each of you to know that everyone is invited to come by ones or twos to sit with me on my porch, or inside, masked, if the weather is bad.  Just please email, text, or phone me, if it is convenient to come, to arrange a time (812-332-1961). I look forward to visits from any and all of you. (Be assured there is no obligation nor pressure here, especially for you out-of-towners.) Multiple visits are fine.

On a not very related note, I have a brief observation to make. When I was young, and not so young, I, with my stick-straight hair, always wanted to have the beautiful natural curls that my only and older sister had in such abundance. If you check out my photo (hair au naturel), you will see that in my dotage, my wish has become, in part, true.

The philosophical question that comes to my mind is:  is it better to get half of what you wish for or nothing at all?  The moral of the story is, of course, be careful what you wish for, and on that puzzling note I wish you all a very happy spring!

Love from Half-curly
