Angi’s Story

Site created on March 1, 2024

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting!  Angi was diagnosed with breast cancer (invasive ductal carcinoma) in January of this year.  This is a common type of breast cancer and we are told it is not aggressive and was caught early, thankfully!  Angi had surgery to remove the tumor in early February.  She has recovered well from surgery, but unfortunately one lymph  node was positive for cancer cells.  Further treatment will include chemotherapy followed by radiation.  This came as quite a shock as we were hoping to avoid the need for chemo.  However, Angi remains strong and SO READY to get this part of treatment over with!  She will start the 2nd week of March.  This diagnosis adds to the list of multiple health issues Angi has fought over the last couple of years.  Prayers for strength and return to health are much appreciated!  I will update this site as able over the next few months as Angi may not feel well enough to keep friends/family updated.  Thank you all!!

Newest Update

Journal entry by Amy Williams

Jeez! It's been almost a month since I've posted an update !  Angi had her last dose of the "red devil" chemo drug yesterday..yay!  She will feel the effects of this (nausea, fatigue, body aches, mouth sores) for another 2 weeks-ish, but it marks the end of Phase 1 of chemotherapy.  She will begin Phase 2, which includes receiving a chemo drug called Taxol weekly throughout the summer.  We are praying Taxol will be easier to handle (less side effects) and Angi will feel a bit more "normal" and will have more good days than bad days.  Angi tackles each day as it comes.....I remain in awe at how strong she is.  Your thoughts and prayers are much appreciated!
