Hi all, we have a brief update for you. We met with Dr. Khan today and decided not to do the Proton Radiation therapy. It would only be for palliative care and would not make a difference in longevity. I am managing the pain via pain meds. He has ordered a pet scan for next week which will show us how much active cancer there is and where it is in my body.
From there, Dr. Khan wants me to consider radio isotope treatment. This is a type of radiation delivered direct into the cancerous bones. It is not FDA approved and is part of a clinical trial. The closest location is Nashville. This could make a difference in longevity and we will consider it.
Additionally, if the fractures in my hip or spine become worse, we will need to consider surgical intervention. He will monitor closely. I will continue to receive immunotherapy infusions which are not eradicating the cancer, but will hopefully continue to slow progression.
Thank you all for your loving support and your faithful prayers. We know it is by our Lord’s hand that we continue on this journey and he has given us peace in the process.
Much love to you all always,
Angie and Chip
