Journal entry by Angie Grossman —
I haven’t posted in quite awhile, but that is a good thing! Things have been calm and quiet on the medical side of things. My most recent CT showed that my pneumonia has completely cleared out of my left lung. No other major concerns currently.
I am taking a short break from the cancer meds, due to my tongue swelling. Nothing major, but we want to see if it will get better. My oncologist seems to think that it has nothing to do with the meds. And after being off them for 10 days, I believe it too!! There was mention of it being from a virus or something else causing it. We will visit again tomorrow and decide if anything else needs to be done. Ibuprofen and Benadryl help a bit, but it is still annoying. Thankfully no major problems with it, but it isn’t fun😵💫
I have been doing great back at work. I am trying to get in 3 days most weeks, so that is great!
Some days the exhaustion and fatigue strikes me like a ton of bricks, other days I feel awesome!!
We are planning a fun roadtrip as soon as school is out, so I have been focused on that. It is great to have a “goal” to focus on. It definitely takes my mind off the day to day thoughts about cancer.
When we get back I will be doing my next petscan. I am nervous and excited to see what’s going on! I really do feel good lately! My leg pain has been almost nonexistent. I still feel like the muscles are tight and sore, but the bone pain is gone. I haven’t noticed it bothering me at all in the last 6 weeks or so.
I will definitely post again once we get the scans back. In the meantime please continue to keep us in your prayers…..they have been working so far🩷
