Journal

So many of you came out yesterday afternoon and poured your hearts into us, and we cannot sufficiently express our gratitude.

I believe I can speak for all of us when I say the morning seemed to drag. We are so happy mom is home, but we were not looking forward to the service. Part of us hoped we were in a bad dream and would wake up soon. But as the time crept closer, it was no longer "get through it one day at a time", it became get through an hour at a time, then a few minutes at a time, and then suddenly it was time and the tears no longer had a reason to stop.

You hugged on us, you held our hands, you told us of what our mom meant to you, and many of you told us that you would continue on praying for all the little ones. It really was soothing to the aches in our hearts.

We also realized upon our arrivals that a couple of us "had one job" that never got done. We are a family of introverts. So maybe it's fitting that we held it close, but we had grand ideas of sharing some of mom's best pictures on the screens before and after the service. And you never got to see them. Oops! Sorry! Grief brain is real, folks.

So on that note, here is a link to an album that we have placed some pictures we had to share with everyone of mom. We hope you enjoy watching her smile through pictures as much as we have enjoyed living with it.

Pictures of the greatest mom ever.

We have had some hard days, with still many more to come. Can we ask you to keep us in your prayers? We would be forever grateful. Prayers are what had us standing yesterday.

"At the ultimate healing,
We will be home free...
You know pain has little mercy
Suffering's no respecter of age
Of race or position
I know every prayer gets answered
But the hardest one to pray is slow to come
Oh Lord! Not mine! But your will be done."
