"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope." Romans 15:13
Good evening everyone,
After a somewhat rough week last week, I am happy to report that this week has been much smoother. I've been able to start my walks again and am beginning to feel more energetic. Had a couple of very minor skin issues after the last surgery, but am so thankful that overall the 2nd surgery went well and was a success. I saw Dr. Wilhelmi for postop last Friday and he was very happy with how I was healing so far. Please join us in praying for the following over the coming weeks.
-I'm hoping to return to work at least part-time sometime next week and full-time sometime the week after (this is awaiting paperwork approval). Please pray this is a smooth transition for me and that I stay healthy and I handle being back in the office and working again well. Slightly concerned about becoming overwhelmed and stressed, but also feeling very ready to transition to the next stage of healing and recovery.
-I receive the first injection of Lupron tomorrow (4/12/24). This will be a monthly injection for at least 5 years. Within a couple of weeks, I will begin experiencing menopausal symptoms. This also puts me at a greater risk of bone and heart issues. Please pray I tolerate the injections well and have no to very minimal side effects. There is still the possibility of just having my ovaries removed so I wouldn't have to take the shots. Will be discussing this option with the Medical Oncologist more and definitely praying for wisdom and discernment from God to know which is best for me.
-4/26/24, I will have a follow up appointment with Dr. Wilhelmi to check all of my incisions and to make sure everything is still healing as it should.
-5/9/24, I will see Dr. Riley the Medical Oncologist again to be started on the pill that will also help suppress estrogen and receive the 2nd injection of Lupron
As a side note, if you or someone you know had their ovaries removed before menopause, I would greatly appreciate hearing about that experience. My email address is amb5641@yahoo.com.
We continue to be comforted by your prayers, support and love. God has truly blessed us with the very best family and friends. Please let us know how we can pray for you too.
Much love,
Angie & Cam
