Journal entry by Emily Felts —
Hey everyone! Mama and Casey just got home from her appointment at MD Anderson.
Since her last appointment 10 weeks ago, her CA-125 (tumor marker) has gone up almost 75% - from 205 to 356. The right pleural effusion has also been accumulating at a much faster rate. She also has a lymph node in her lower left abdomen that has doubled in size since January. These are all indicators that her current treatment plan has run its course and it’s time to switch things up.
Next week, Mama will be starting back on chemotherapy. This is a different type of chemo than she was on last time, so we are praying that she will have minimal side effects.
Her care team will monitor her CA-125 and fluid accumulation closely to determine if this new treatment plan is working. If not, they will move to the next option!
Please keep her in your prayers and ask God to continue to give her strength and perseverance in this battle!
Mama, Casey, Joel and I are so appreciative of the continued love and support!
