Andy is still in ICU at North York General and will be for some time.  He is allowed visitors but you must call the ICU nurse station at 416-756-6458 to arrange a visit.  You can also schedule a virtual visit by calling the same number.  Nurses will setup a tablet so you can talk to Andy.  More information available at https://www.nygh.on.ca/patients-and-visitors/visitor-information.

Mom's update:
At today's visit he opened his eyes and held my hand and moved his left arm. He is still not what you would consider awake. I talked a lot and he moved his head from side to side. I told him he is very sick (which he may be aware of) and that everyone is concerned and wish him the best.  I'm pretty sure he recognized my voice but you really couldn't tell from his facial expression because of the ventilator. We have to wear a gown, gloves, mask & shield. After a while his Dr. Came and asked if we wanted to come out and get an update
I told Andy we would be back shortly but it felt as if he didn't want me to let go of his hand. I reassured him and took my hand away.
The main concern is the bleeding in the brain. It's in the frontal lobe. The bleeding has been absorbed but it kills brain tissue. It's similar to having a stroke. They don't know how much improvement (or not) he might have over the next few days. But in any case he will never be able to live on his own. He will need care for the rest of his life.
