Andy’s Story

Site created on May 23, 2023

Welcome to our CaringBridge site. We've created it to keep friends and family updated. On April 29th, Andy was diagnosed with a brain tumor (meningioma) in the olfactory grove. It is almost certainly benign; however, because of the location and size, it needs to be removed to prevent long-term symptoms. Andy's surgery is scheduled for May 25th, and we will be using this site to communicate with our family and friends. Andy is in good spirits, considering he will undergo brain surgery in two days. Drew, Allison, Will, and I are doing well and are eager to support Andy. We are not in need of anything other than your positive thoughts and prayers. Thank you for caring enough about Andy to check in on how he is doing. Love, Denise

Journal entry by Denise Hall

For the record, Andy has named himself Super Guppy (after the airplane) and it wasn't any of us.  The good news is that he is home and doing well. We have an appointment to have his stitches removed on November 30th, so for now it is pretty low-key at the Hall house. We are thankful for a successful surgery and can't wait to have all three kids back home together next week. It will be a special Thanksgiving as we celebrate all our blessings, the kids’ 23rd birthday, and Andy’s new forehead.  Wishing you a very Happy Thanksgiving. We hope the love and support our family and friends have shown us come back to them ten fold.  We can’t thank you enough. We aren't done with this journey just yet, but for the first time in awhile we feel like we can see the finish line.
