Dearest #FinneyStrong Supporters,

This has been, without a doubt in my mind, one of the most difficult and profound times of our family's life.  However, with each and every gesture of support & the kindness of your words, our broken hearts start to be put back together.  It is my intention to try and thank everyone individually over the next year.  I am still reading all the beautiful cards and catching up on missed messages via texts, emails & phone.

I find myself gasping at the generosity we have received.  There have been so many blessings weaved into this immensely difficult experience.  First of all, I have heard from people that I have not seen for decades- heartwarming to say the least.  Andy's fraternity brothers coming together to support (big time!!!) our family & starting a virtual gathering of over 80 Sigma Chi Brothers from The University of Wisconsin-Madison.  Andy's high school buddies from Minnesota texting pictures and telling stories of Andy.  Andy's closest friends feeling their own pain so deeply while also supporting us.  Our two families coming together and grieving this great loss with such grace.  All my beautiful, fucking awesome friends holding me up and honoring my pain while also loving my children.  I am forever indebted to all of you! (Jennifer Jean- I will probably work the rest of my life to figure out how to thank you for being my angel- or I'll buy you a horse, of course) The incredible meals that have nourished us.  The beautiful flowers that have brought lightness into our home. The monetary & gift donations that have brought us ease of mind. The nurses who cared for Andy in the hospital and showed us true compassion in an otherwise callous place.  All the cameo videos- amazing.  Dawg Nation Hockey Foundation- Martin & Michael- you cared so much for Andy & our family.  The YMCA for stepping in with so much kindness & concern for us.  Michele, Chris, Laurie at Walnut Telecom for your steadfast commitment to continue Andy's hard work.  My work family- allowing me the time & space to start the healing process. Our extraordinary Hockey Community for sharing memories, and pictures of Andy.  My "cancer" pen pals- all of you- thank you- we will be forever connected! Our neighbors for looking out for us, always, thank you.  Thank you Holistica for being there for Andy every single week for over 16 months.  And, our furry friend Hudson was even taken care of. The Natural Funeral Home for guiding us through unknown territory with respect, honor & love. Our new friends Rada & Rizo- for making us feel like a really special family- L'Chaim!

There have been countless ways in which we have felt blessed over the last few weeks even in the midst of our deep sadness.  I will continue to thank all of you, so if I missed you, please know you are not forgotten.

It will take some time to heal and our lives will never be the same.  We wanted more time- we thought we had more time. There is a big gap in our lives right now.  We will eventually fill that gap with special memories we have of Andy.  Lastly- I want to ask that you continue to pray (whatever that means to you) for my children- that they can heal & continue to blossom as they navigate this challenging time.  If Andy & I did anything right, we raised 3 pretty cool kids!

Bless you all!

Gina, Max, Jordan & Serena (Hudson, too)

P.S- If I do not respond to your outreach, please reach out again.  I try to respond to everyone, but I miss a few here and there.  Every single one means so much to me.
