Today, Andy and I celebrated the 1st year Anniversary of his re-birth (aka, stem cell transplant) day. 

We had a lovely dinner and celebrated with his all time favorite cake…Red Velvet. Andy is a happy camper because it was just a few dollars more for an entire red velvet cake vs 2 pieces, so I bought the whole cake (it made the most economic sense). He’s celebrating until the cake is gone. 🥰

Andy had never watched the stem cell transplant videos I posted during his hospitalization…so we watched them together Friday night…without the popcorn 🍿

It was emotional for us to watch but also encouraging to know how strong Andy was/is to fight this unwelcome beast. While watching we were reminded of how thankful we are for the love of our God, family and friends  and for the caring and wonderful Mayo Clinic staff who took care of Andy during the most difficult journey of his life. ❤️

Recent news… I am happy to report Andy’s HR disability documents were finally signed (by his GP) and sent to HR. Now we pray and wait. 🙏
