And just like that, after 60 days, our boy is home. These two months have been the longest of our life, and at the same time, it feels like he just got here.
We have felt such a range of emotions today - excitement to have him home, nervousness as we transition from NICU parents to home parents, sadness as we left the nurses and therapists that became friends over the last months, and joy as we reflected on the ways we have come to know God and his faithfulness all the more from this part of our story. This isn’t the story we would have chosen for ourselves and Andrew, and yet the ways we felt God holding onto us when we struggled to keep moving forward made it an experience we wouldn’t trade.
We confidently believe the only reason we were able to bring Andrew home and healthy is because of the prayers that were consistently said for him by so many. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you. We hope Andrew’s story has encouraged you and your faith as much as it has ours, and we are excited to continuing telling and hearing stories.
God has been so good to us. You all have been such a gift to us. We are truly blessed, and excited to close our NICU chapter and start the next.
