Journal entry by Kaia Paquin

Andrea’s left eye cataract and astigmatism surgery went well last week. She is very grateful to be seeing as well as she is and is looking forward to being seen for her right eye on the 19th.

This week, along with her regular therapies, she plans to attend her first Stroke Support group and will have appointments related to her post-stroke thalamic pain. While Andrea does not officially have that diagnosis (PS-TP), both her neurologist and PM&R doctor have linked the intense pain on her left side of her head, face & ear with her stroke affecting her thalamus.

All other areas have been progressing well for Andrea in her recovery and we are really hoping that there will be something that can lessen the pain.
