Jordan’s Story

Site created on April 17, 2018

Where do I even begin...Jordan got his gallbladder taken out 4 weeks ago. Some days he would feel ok and some days he was sleeping on the bathroom floor. It was a constant cycle that he was trying to overcome. We went into the surgery center office and talked to them on the phone many times, however; this can be very normal for someone’s body transitioning to the new you without a gallbladder. Well long story short I knew something was wrong,  had a bad feeling and I felt like he was getting worst.  Brought him into the ER yesterday morning and they did some scans. The results were shocking, scary, emotionally and physically hard to hear. They found a large mass/lesion in the middle of his transverse colon causing a complete bowel obstruction/blockage. We talked with two amazing surgeons and went with the colorectal  surgeon, one of the best in the country. Surgery went very well. They took about 1/3 of his colon, Remove the mass/tumor and removed all the affected lymphnodes! He put in a temporary ileostomy to let his colon heal. Since the cancer spread into his lymphnodes the surgeon said he will most likely we need to have chemotherapy. After chemo, 4 months or so, they will reconnect his small bowel to his large and get rid of the bag!!  And then hopefully stay cancer free!

This first round of chemo was tough. Jordan was nauseous, jittery, couldn’t focus and had some insomnia lasting for about a week.

Well today is round two! We are currently here waiting for them to mix the chemo. His labs looked good and they are adjusting his meds a little bit and hopefully it will help with some of the side effects.

Jordan probably won’t feel the best this Saturday but he is really excited to see everyone at his benefit his buddies are throwing for him! For those of you who don’t know About the benefit, it’s in forest lake at the legion 4-9pm.

Jordan is one tough cookie and is fighting everyday! Thanks for all the love and encouragement everyday!
