Journal

It has been a month since my last post, and to say a lot has happened in that time is a colossal  understatement. I re-entered the workforce on Feb. 26th in the marketing department of a midwest roofing and construction company. I truly wish I could say it was a seamless transition. However, the reality is quite the opposite. There have been many downs and ups. I've felt a wide range of emotions, but am trying to trust in God's plan, even when most days it seems nearly impossible.

One definite benefit has been returning to a routine. An 8 to 5 p.m. schedule, Monday through Friday has helped me feel like real 30-year-old. It is nice to be out of my parents' house during the day. If anything, they feel like my roommates who I see in the morning and evening. Now that my body is growing accustomed to the routine, I'm able to commit to an after-work event once or twice a week. I love how a balance is returning to my life now that I am seven months out from my transplant.

My next major step will hopefully be moving back out on my own, OR planning an out-of-state trip via plane! Either one sounds extremely appealing right now.

The item I am most proud of is that I am learning how to shoot and edit video content. I have always admired photographers and videographers. These are skills I want to add to my creative toolbox. I practiced recently by creating my own video about my journey. It is on my new YouTube channel, and I'd love for all of you to take a couple of minutes and watch it. I can't wait to keep growing in this incredible new hobby that may lead me down a new path someday.

Please continue your prayers for me. There are items I do not feel comfortable including here that I am still struggling with. Life is messy, as we all know -- especially when you're back out in the world after 2+ years of being fairly isolated.

Blessings to you all! 😘
