Newest Update

Journal entry by amy gibson

Today is a happy day for the Hutchinson family as they celebrate the milestone in Macey’s life. She graduates from high school and looks forward to many adventures in her future. It is always a milestone for parents as well. Proud of Macey’s accomplishments and their own as they see their child growing and reaching into adulthood.

As happy as Joey and Amy and all their family are in this season on celebration, they are also struggling. Cancer is such an invader into a person’s life, physically, emotionally and spiritually. The last update was as Amy and Joey headed off to Colorado to the Eden Valley Health and Wellness Center. They returned excited, refreshed and spiritually uplifted! God was with them on that journey. Amy was so encouraged to keep moving forward and full of hope for her recovery.

There was one thing, however, that has been an element of discouragement for many months. After many appointments, scans and evaluations it has been determined that the constant, and I mean constant pain in her left arm is being caused by a swollen lymph node pressing on a nerve. Some of the treatments that had been and are beneficial to her recovery had to be put on hold because they exacerbated the pain. Others have been intensified in order to address this issue. The treatments are time-consuming, uncomfortable and require lots of rest for Amy. But still the pain persists, and she is losing the use of her left hand at this point. All hope is that this is a temporary situation and that the nerve damage will be repaired as the lymph node shrinks, and it is getting smaller.

All this came to a head a week after returning from Eden Valley where Amy and Joey were fed nourishing foods, drank healing juices, experienced therapies designed specifically to help her body fight cancer. It was working. Returning home, with renewed hope and physical strength they slipped back into their family routine. Life is busy with 6 children in the home and Amy was feeling stronger and doing more. Often times the nourishing foods and healing juices were set aside. Their preparations can be overwhelming and time-consuming as well. But still they worked at it. Then….

A discouraging word from a thoughtless doctor took hold of Amy. The devil comes to steal, kill and destroy. He wants to destroy the victories they experienced while at the treatment center. But we know that Jesus has come to give life and to give it abundantly. Will join us in prayer as we come against discouragement for the Hutchinson family.

Will you also join us in helping them provide for her healing. A plan is coming together to help us help them. Juices need prepared, Meals for the family. Foods for Amy’s recovery. If you are willing to take on -a small task, please reach out to Amy Gibson (757-646-0552) or Brenda Williams (757-713-1126). Amy G Has also opened up meal train for sign up for meals for the family. We will help you coordinate with the family to lift them up during this time.

God is our provider, and He provides through his family – one to another! We love you Amy and Joey and count it a blessing to be able to walk alongside you.
