Welcome to Amy’s CaringBridge Site
Sign In to Show Your SupportI met with my oncologist, and he verified I beat my cancer!!! I do not need radiation or anymore Chemo. The best news ever. The weight has been lifted off my shoulders and my mind. I feel so free.
We scheduled my transfusions for every 3 weeks through December this will put me at a year of Herceptin. My first one will be Monday. I really hope it will be a breeze and no side effects. Nothing can be worse than chemo. I will continue with my monthly injection for 5 years and we discussed another medication I would have to take for 5 years. We have not decided what that will be.
I need to continue to have echocardiograms and meet with cardiologist while receiving my infusions as it causes side effects to the heart. I will continue my betablocker medication for this reason. I hope my heart stays stable during the treatments.
I was able to get another 100 mL to both expanders and my left drain was pulled. I continue to heal and slowly expand my skin. I am two weeks post op and received the ok to go back to work this Friday. I still need to take it easy and still have restrictions for a couple weeks.
I am so happy this journey is almost over. I never thought I would slowly see the light at the end. I am so blessed I received the best news.
I am still recovering and healing from chemo and now my surgery. The Chemo took so much out of me. I am so deconditioned. I am excited to start exercising and being me again. One day at a time and it will all come together.
In the meantime, I will continue to heal, regain my strength and live life! Preparing for the future and the big surgery this early winter.
I hope to be finished with everything by end of this year.
I want to say thank you for the prayers and all the support that was given to me and my family during this time. Truly meant so much.
I will continue my journey with strength and optimism.
Love, Amy
