My numbers looked good, so I got chemo and it went well today. We started with saline, and 2 anti-nausea meds then moved on to Keytruda and the bad boys Adriamycin and Cytoxin.  I started feeling the side effects (nausea, hot flashes, headache, fatigue) almost immediately this time. The last 2 times on these drugs I didn't feel the effects until Wednesday so it caught me a little off guard.
Daren took me to the lab and my Dr appt then switched out with AJ and he got to be my chemo buddy! Dr appt went well. Tumor can no longer be felt! So that is great news. I see the endocrinologist on Wed about the thyroid and I have a biopsy on it April 18. Once we know results we'll go from there.
Chemo with AJ is a lot of fun. We played Catan Dice this time. It's similar to Yatzee. He beat me twice. When he's with me it's easier to be strong and get through it, he helps keep my mind off of what's going on.
When we got home, Daren and I walked around the block. I pushed myself a bit but it felt good to be out in the warm weather and the steroid was still running through me so that helped motivate me, lol. Soon after that I crashed for hours. Stomach was queasy so it was a Boost for dinner and then bed.
I'm excited for the endocrinologist. I really hope we can get the thyroid and the hot flashes finally under control.
Looking ahead:
April 11: last chemo! I will still get Keytruda (the immunotherapy drug) every 3 weeks until October
April 15: breast MRI
April 18: thyroid biopsy
April 18: Dr. Singh (cardiologist)           April 25: Dr. Stelle (breast surgeon) to go over surgery plan. I'm still working on what type of mastectomy and reconstruction and when that can happen). Surgery was scheduled for May 10, but I moved it to June to give myself more time to heal and mentally prepare. Also, our anniversary is the 15th and my bday is the 23rd. This had been a long tough road and I wanted to be selfish and spend some time feeling normal for a couple of weeks before the next phase.                                                                  June 2: mastectomy surgery

Praise: the tumor can no longer be felt! Yay!!!

Prayers: numbers to stay up, and side effects stay manageble. Also for strength for my family as we go through this, my boys are troopers!

Thank you, again, to all of you who take care of us with your thoughts and prayers and overwhelming support. We know we are not alone and we know we can't do any of this without you. You lift us up daily and continue to help us in so many ways. We truly appreciate everything.

Love to you all, Always!
