Mia has been home for over 3 weeks now! She’s had a crazy 3 weeks as well! We’ve celebrated the wedding of Maddie and Freddy, celebrated cousin Treileigh’s birthday, interacted with a lot of friends and family, and gone to both the Children’s Museum and the Zoo!

Most exciting includes all of the great medical updates we’ve received. The best of them is that we have been given the green light to leave the NG tube out for the time being. Amelia will go back to the doctor in a few weeks for a weight check, but if she’s continuing to gain at a good rate, the tube will be able to just be a thing of the past. She’s been doing a phenomenal job eating, so hopefully that continues! Mia is still on thickened liquids, but is doing a great job on them.

Mia absolutely adores her big sister and the feeling is mutual. Charlotte always wants to make sure that Mia is comfortable and happy. She asks to hold her about 50 times a day. Mia, in turn, smiles almost every time she hears Charlotte’s voice. It is going to be so much fun watching them grow up together! Alphie (the dog) is also obsessed and is a companion for the times when Mia needs to eat in the middle of the night. However, Mia is sleeping super well!

We are still adjusting to the two-under-two life. Some days it feels like just surviving and we go to bed with the house looking like a tornado ripped through it, but we are so happy to have our family all together that it doesn’t matter. And Mia is really such a chill baby. As long as she’s with us, she’s happy! She loved riding in the stroller, riding in the car, sitting on the couch, tummy time if someone is there with her, being held, baby wearing, laying next to Charlotte…again, basically anything where she’s near us.

We are so grateful for Mia’s whole medical team and all the work they did to ensure that Mia got to come home as early as possible.

Our home and our hearts are so full with Amelia at home, and we continue to love every single day as a family of four. Thank you all so much for your prayers and support; we know that everything would have been much more difficult without the love of our village.
