Journal entry by Amanda Sedivy —
Amanda and I want to thank all of the thought, prayers, texts, calls and support that you have offered! It has and is helping tremendously! You’re never really ready for a day like today! You just get through it. Thank you again!
Amanda started surgery at 8:23. I receive updated texts from the surgical team on my phone. She is doing well and per the time frames we were expecting, the removal of the breasts should be near completion. Hopefully the cancer is now gone!
After that, the reconstruction should be started soon. I will keep everyone updated. Thank you again for all of your love and thoughts! They are working and they mean the world to her right now! The recovery be battle is our next obstacle! Step by step! ❤️
11:50 a.m. Just met with Oncology Surgeon, she said that Amanda is doing great! She feels confident that she was able to get all the cancer! She said that the Plastic Surgeon is going to be about another hour and a half or so. Thank you again everyone! Anxious to get passed the upcoming recovery already! So thankful for this positive news! Praise God!
1:15 p.m. She is in the PACU and is currently waking up. Things went smoothly! Thanks again everyone! Amanda and I are very fortunate to have your thoughts and prayers! Now the second half of this process begins. Onward to healing and recovery! ❤️🩹
4:25 Amanda is home and resting! She is so overwhelmed with all of the love, support and thoughts! Her heart is full and EXTREMELY appreciative! She cannot properly express how much everything has meant to her right now, I know she would want you all to know that every bit of assistance and care package you have sent his being put to use. From the ice packs to the mastectomy pillows to the mastectomy clothe’s, she is truly thankful!
A $25 donation to CaringBridge powers a site like Amanda's for two weeks. Will you make a gift to help ensure that this site stays online for them and for you?
