Today's surgery was a success with no complications!!!
Amanda decided to have a bilateral mastectomy today. Our doctors were able to also schedule her reconstruction surgery along with the bilateral mastectomy. There was no signs of cancer of in her breast, but her lymph node showed it still had cancer. The next step in the process is radiation for the spots that still have cancer once she is recovered from surgery.
No worries with the lymph node, our doctors have done a great job and planned for radiation even before Amanda's surgery. We have already met with the radiation oncologist and have a plan set. Radiation is nothing like chemotherapy or surgery.
This strong woman had the choice of staying a night or going home.... We are heading home!
