So he will be going in laproscopically but will open her up if necessary. She will have 3 incisions maybe 4. He will be taking her gall bladder out as well and will be reconstructing the bile duct. She will be in the hospital for 3-5 days and down for a week. They will be sending the cyst to the pathologist to be tested. And she will have yearly checkups for cancer. It is a type one choledocal cyst. Surgery should last around 3 hours. This dr has done at least 3 of these surgeries a year and complications are minimal. There is a big risk because this duct sits on top of the portal vein. Which is a big artery and if its cut she could die from it. Other then that were all set for surgery on july 23.
