Journal entry by Jill Forrest —
Last night, December 7th, Allen passed away in his home with his family by his side. He was such a fighter through this long journey with cancer, even in the last few weeks he held on as long as he could.
Al was a beloved son, brother, father, husband, and grandpa. What was most important to Al was spending time with his wife, 7 children and 15 grand children. His love of fishing, hunting, and going to the cabin were all things he shared with his family. He loved to tell stories about anything and everything he experienced, down to the last detail. He really loved his job of 33 years. He was always willing to share his knowledge with everyone around him.
Allen would love to be remembered for his hard work, dedication, leadership, loyalty, his infectious laugh, commitment and love for his family.
We are so thankful for the support our family received from hospice care over the last several weeks.
We appreciate everyone that has reached out with well wishes and prayers for our family. As well as those that have dropped off meals and donated to our GofundMe page. This has all been a great help throughout this journey.
Due to the current Covid restrictions, we will be planning a celebration of Allen's life at a later date.
We will update this site with that information.
Please continue to think of our family while we take the time to grieve the loss of a special man.
With lots of love,
The Forrest family
