And the LORD will guide you continually and satisfy your desire in scorched places and make your bones strong and you shall be like a watered garden like a spring of water whose waters do not fail.  Isiah 58:11

This will be the last Tuesday morning we wake up in Houston, Vantage apartment 1106 for a while.  Allan has completed 32 of 33 proton radiation treatments, 6 chemo treatments, physical therapy and several doctor’s appointments a week during our stay here.

This health journey has been just that, a journey filled with challenges and blessings. We have become more in love with the Lord as we have learned that he loves us deeply and will never abandon us, even when we pass through rough waters.  We have gotten to know and love Houston, its restaurants (Ninfa’s, a tex-mex restaurant, was our favorite), and realized just how friendly everyone we have met has been. We have learned there is a lot to do here when we're not at the medical center.  We have learned our way around the MD Anderson Medical complex and been in awe at the doctors, nurses, P.A.’s, and staff just to list a few.   We admire and trust in MD Anderson and its people.  We have learned to love each other more and better.  We have learned how to love our loved ones better as we have been loved well by family, and new and old friends.

We will be forever indebted to you all for your prayers.  As Allan bangs the gong, signifying the end of his treatment tomorrow morning I think “how perfect it would be for all of you to bang it with him!”  We have felt your presence in a huge way during our time here.  Stay tuned for our next episode when we return for a PET scan in January.

You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; you have loosed my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness, that my glory may sing your praise and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks to you forever! - Psalm 30:11-12
